The Ottheinrich Gymnasium Wiesloch is a high school in Baden-Württemberg Wiesloch . After the elector Ottheinrich named (1502-1559) is a public school generally forming gymnasium. It is attended by students from Wiesloch and the surrounding communities.
history
On June 13, 1877, Grand Duke Friedrich I of Baden approved the new higher middle school. Classes began with 21 sextans and 41 quintans. Since the beginning of the school year 1883/1884, girls have also been admitted. In 1927 the school was expanded into a nine-class full facility. It became a secondary school , the school leaving certificate entitling it to attend university as well as a technical college. When the National Socialists came to power in 1933, the school was downgraded to a Realprogymnasium. In 1938 it was expanded again into a full institution. The school was named Rupertschule, Oberschule for boys . In 1965, the Wiesloch high school became the Wiesloch mathematics and natural science high school by setting up a new language train (N2) with the foreign language sequence English / Latin / French . As part of the 125th anniversary in 2002, the previously "nameless" grammar school was given the name Ottheinrich grammar school.
building
From the beginning until 1966, classes were held in the primary school building on Wiesloch market square, which shortly afterwards gave way to the new town hall. The new school building on Gerbersruh could be gradually moved into in the 1960s and was inaugurated on November 26, 1966. It consisted of the A, B and C buildings. In 1996 the shortage of space was temporarily eliminated with the N-Bau, in which mainly the lower level is taught. In the summer of 2001, the former Dämmelwald primary school was taken over as a D-Bau after renovation. In 2005, the E-Bau, which mainly serves the upper level , was built using a container construction method. In 2008 the F-Building was added to the previous part with a cafeteria and various leisure facilities for the students. It was inaugurated on October 11, 2008 on the day of the school festival. This was an important step towards establishing an all-day school, which took place in the course of the eight-year high school.
