Otto Ambros (actor)

Otto Ambros (born May 15, 1910 in Klosterneuburg ; † February 21, 1979 in Vienna ) was an Austrian actor and film director .

Life

Ambros attended the Schottengymnasium in Vienna until 1928 . He gained his first experience as an actor in the mid-1930s. He made his debut as an actor with a small role in the film Little Mummy from 1935. His next role followed two years later in the film Darling of the Sailors , in which he was also seen in a supporting role.

It was not until 19 years later that he reappeared as an actor. In 1961 Ambros made his debut as a director with the film Motorists on the move . A year later he directed Before Virgins is warned , in which he was also involved for the first time as a screenwriter. His third and last film as a director followed in 1967 with Wiener Schnitzel . As an actor he was mainly seen in supporting roles, in the late 1960s and 1970s he was mainly seen on television. In 1976 he worked on his last film.

Ambros had been a member of the Humanitas Lodge since 1971 and of the Humanitas Lodge since 1978.
