Otto Baecker

Otto Baecker (born January 7, 1898 in Berlin ; † May 22, 1970 there ) was a German cameraman .

Life

From 1912 to 1914 he trained as a cameraman at Continental Kunstfilm and then worked as a camera operator and camera assistant at the Decla production company. He made his first films as head cameraman in 1923. In the same year he took part in an expedition to South Africa and Brazil, with which he did not return to Germany until 1928.

Since 1929, Baecker has been behind the camera again in the production of feature films, initially repeatedly as the second cameraman alongside Günther Rittau . From 1936 he was the sole cameraman for relatively little known productions. After the end of the war he was able to continue his work in German film.
