Otto Charles Sommerich also in the spelling variant Otto C. Sommerich (born December 31, 1877 in New York City , New York , † January 10, 1968 there ) was an American lawyer .

Life

Family and education

Otto Charles Sommerich, son of Joseph Sommerich and his Wife Clara-born Frank, 1896 acquired the academic degree of Bachelor of Arts at City College of New York. He then studied law at Columbia University , graduating with a Master of Arts in 1898 and a Bachelor of Laws in 1899 , and in the same year he was admitted to the bar in New York.

Otto Charles Sommerich married Edith Wise on March 12, 1908. From this marriage came the daughters Ann and Jane. He died in New York City in January 1968 just after he turned 90.

Professional background

Otto Charles Sommerich practiced as a lawyer in New York City after graduating, and in 1904 he joined the law firm Katz & Sommerich. Sommerich was elected a member of the American Bar Association , the New York City Bar Association, the American Foreign Law Association, and the International Law Association . He has been named Honorary President of the American Foreign Law Association and Honorary Vice President of the American Branch of the International Law Association. He stood out in particular through treatises relating to the field of international law .
