Otto Dikreiter

Otto Dikreiter (born November 12, 1899 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein , † July 13, 1990 in Hamburg ) was a German publisher and editor .

Life

Dikreiter was the son of the SPD politician and journalist Heinrich Georg Dikreiter and brother of the painter Heiner Dikreiter .

He worked in the book trade in Würzburg , Hanover , Konstanz and Bremen until he became the publishing director and authorized signatory at Gräfe and Unzer in Königsberg from 1928 to 1938 . In 1938 in Königsberg he founded the Kanter publishing house at the Graphische Kunstanstalt. He published numerous books, some of which had high print runs. After his escape and the end of World War II , he published in his own Otto Dikreiter publishing house in Überlingen , Frankfurt am Main and Berlin ; later he lived in Hamburg .

In 1935 he was Honorary Chancellor of the Austrian Consulate in Königsberg .

Since 1926 he was married to Hanna Hillebrandt.
