Otto Günther (diplomat)

Otto Günther (born September 30, 1884 in Trebinje ; † March 25, 1970 in Vienna ) was an Austrian diplomat .

Life

Otto Günther was a Roman Catholic and headed the Austrian representation authority in Munich from January 2, 1923 to 1929 . On December 22, 1920 he was appointed consul general, second class. In 1926 he was promoted to first class councilor. On January 16, 1930 he was appointed Envoy Extraordinary and Ministre plénipotentiaire in Athens , where he was accredited from February 25, 1930 to May 29, 1933. From January 22, 1931 he was consecutively accredited in Tirana and from January 31, 1933 consecutively with Fu'ad I in Cairo .

From 1933 to 1938 he was envoy to Paris and consecutive to the government of the second Spanish republic . From 1945 to 1949 he was chief of protocol in the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs . From January 13, 1948 to 1950, he was ambassador to Buenos Aires .
