Otto Heidkämper

Otto Heidkämper (born March 13, 1901 in Lauenhagen , † February 16, 1969 in Bückeburg ) was a German officer , last lieutenant general in World War II .

Life

He was born the son of a pastor from Bückeburg. Heidkämper served as an officer in the First World War and was honored with several awards. In the Wehrmacht , Heidkämper served in World War II as chief of the general staff and briefly as commander of the 4th Panzer Division and as chief of the general staff of the XXIV Army Corps and Army Group Center . In 1945 Heidkämper was appointed Chief of the General Staff of Army Group North .
