Otto Hoos

Otto Hoos (born December 24, 1921 in Haßloch ; † July 18, 2003 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ) was a German politician ( SPD ). From 1963 to 1971 he was a member of the state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate .

Life

After attending primary school in Mußbach , Hoos completed a commercial apprenticeship in a textile factory in 1936, which he completed in 1939 with the assistant test. From 1939 to 1941 he worked as a commercial clerk. In 1941 he was drafted into the Wehrmacht and took part in the Second World War as a soldier , most recently as a sergeant in the Air Force. He was taken prisoner by the US. After 1945 he worked in agriculture and viticulture, from 1952 as a self-employed farmer and winemaker.

Hoos was a member of the NSDAP from 1939 . In 1946 he joined the SPD, for which he initially worked in local politics . From 1948 to 1966 he was councilor in Mußbach an der Weinstrasse. In 1956 he became first alderman, in 1960 honorary and 1966 full-time mayor of the community.

In the state elections in 1963 and 1967 , Hoos was elected as a member of the state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate, to which he was a member until 1971. In the fifth electoral term (1963-1967) he was a member of the Agricultural Policy Committee and the Viticulture and Wine Industry Committee, in the sixth electoral term (1967-1971) of the Committee on Agriculture and Viticulture.
