Otto Kallscheuer (* 1950 in Brühl ) is a German political scientist and philosopher .

Act

Kallscheuer was an assistant at the Free University of Berlin from 1977 to 1982, then lecturer at Rotbuch Verlag in Berlin . He received his doctorate in 1984 from the University of Frankfurt . From 1993 to 1994 he was a member of the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton , in 1999 he was a lecturer at the Salzburg University Weeks and from 2005 to 2006 professor at the Free University of Berlin . Other research and teaching centers were Naples, Vienna and Lucerne.

Otto Kallscheuer wrote numerous works, including on questions of theology in modern times. In this context, he gave as his own denomination "Rhenish Catholic".

In addition to his book publications as an author and editor, he wrote essays for the newspapers for German and international politics , the Frankfurter Hefte , the Kursbuch , Leviathan and the research journal Neue Sozialebewegung as well as for national newspapers such as the Neue Zürcher Zeitung , the Süddeutsche Zeitung and Die Zeit .

His main research interests include the philosophies of Hannah Arendt and Norberto Bobbio .

Kallscheuer lives in Sassari on Sardinia and in Berlin.
