Otto Kneipp
Otto Kneipp (born December 11, 1884 in Langsdorf , † May 5, 1965 in Bad Homburg in front of the height ) was a German politician of the FDP .
Life
After graduating from high school in Gießen in 1905 , Otto Kneipp studied economics , agriculture and law there . During the First World War he was a volunteer, fought on the Western Front and was wounded three times. In 1920 he received his doctorate with the thesis Agriculture in the district of Gießen . He then worked as an agriculture teacher and since 1924 as managing director of the Hochtaunus district farming community. He was the first vice president of the Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry.
In 1926 Kneipp became a community representative in Gonzenheim , where he had meanwhile moved, and shortly afterwards also a member of the district council. From 1929 to 1933 Kneipp was a member of the Prussian State Council for the Hesse-Nassau Province . On May 1, 1933, he joined the NSDAP ( membership number 2,370,781). Even after the National Socialists came to power , he remained in the municipal representation of the Gonzenheim community until it was incorporated into Bad Homburg vor der Höhe in 1937.
After the Second World War he co-founded the Obertaunus district farmers 'association and later became the first general manager of the Hessian farmers' association. He joined the FDP, for which he belonged to the German Bundestag in its first legislative period from 1949 to 1953. Here he was on the committee for finance and tax issues. From 1954 to 1958 he was a member of the State Parliament of Hesse and senior president .
On the occasion of his 75th birthday in 1959, Kneipp received the Great Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon.
