Otto Karl Leverkus (born November 22, 1883 in Leverkusen ; † October 7, 1957 in Duisburg ) was a German chemical entrepreneur.

Life

Otto Leverkus was born as the son of the chemical entrepreneur Otto Leverkus . After graduating from the humanistic grammar school in Wiesbaden , he studied as a stud. phil. at the Kaiser Wilhelms University of Strasbourg . He renounced on March 14, 1903 at Rhenania Strasbourg , the corps of his father. Probably for reasons of study, he resigned on October 18, 1903. He moved to the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . After he had renounced on October 26, 1904 at Palatia Bonn , he was reciprocated on February 1, 1905 . On January 15, 1906 inactivated , he went to the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg . He completed his studies in 1909 with a doctorate to become a Dr. phil. nat. from. From 1910 to 1912 he studied engineering at the Technical University of Hanover . He completed his studies in 1911 as a Dipl.-Ing. from. In 1919 Leverkus joined the Vereinigte Ultramarinfabriken AG as a chemist . Leverkus, Zeltner and Consorten . He became the company's director and board member in 1923 and determined the company's fate for a long time. Rhenania Strasbourg awarded him the ribbon on April 29, 1922 as an old man.
