Otto Polak

Otto Polak (born March 10, 1839 in Prague , † October 20, 1916 in Baden (Lower Austria) ) was a German-Bohemian lawyer and farmer.

Life

As the son of a lawyer and royal property manager, Polak studied law at the Charles University in Prague . In 1859 he was a student representative at Prague's legendary Schiller Festival . He was one of the first members of the Rugia Association, which declared itself a Corps in 1862 . In 1863 he was promoted to Dr. jur. PhD. In the same year he acquired the Kamaik estate , which he managed until 1884. In 1874 he founded the Agricultural Association in Leitmeritz , which he headed until 1881. He was one of the founders of the Central Association of German Farmers in Bohemia . From 1885 to 1897 he represented the electoral district of Falkenau an der Eger / Graslitz in the Reichsrat (Austria) (United Left). He sold his estate and settled as a lawyer in Prague , later in Vienna and finally in Baden.
