Otto Portzehl

Otto Portzehl (born July 24, 1860 in Strelitz ; † September 21, 1945 in Neustrelitz ) was a German educator .

Life

Portzehl attended the city school in Strelitz from 1866 to 1873. From 1873 to 1881 he was a student at the Carolineum high school in Neustrelitz , where he graduated from high school in 1881.

From 1888 to 1905 he was a senior teacher at the Royal Wilhelmsgymnasium in Königsberg (Prussia) . In 1905 he was commissioned to found the Royal Hufengymnasium and headed it until 1907. On June 12, 1906, he was appointed grammar school professor and on July 20, 1907, a member of the examination committee for teachers and headmasters at the provincial school college in Königsberg. From 1907 to 1918 he was director of the municipal (Bessel) high school in Königsberg. From 1918 until his retirement in September 1925, Portzehl was senior director of studies at the Hindenburg secondary school in Königsberg. The Albertus University in Königsberg appointed him lecturer of the French language. He carried out this activity from 1915 to 1933.
