Otto Reinwald

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Otto Reinwald (* 23. August 1899 in Konstanz , † 1. July 1968 in Munich ) was a German actor and manager .

Life

Reinwald came to film at the age of ten. He soon gained some popularity and briefly became a child star (alongside his sisters Grete and Hanni ) with roles in Danish productions shortly before and during the First World War . In Germany he played the title role in the military training and propaganda piece The Twelve Year Old War Hero 1915. After his return from Denmark, Otto Reinwald took part in small roles in Harry Higgs detective films during the war, after which (at the end of his school days) he was temporarily forgotten.

It was only from 1923 that Reinwald found connection to the film scene and was able to return to the camera with small parts. After only two sound films, his career was interrupted again, the Konstanz native being largely excluded from artistic pursuits for racial reasons.

After the Second World War, Reinwald was able to re-establish himself in film. Until the mid-1960s he was now employed almost exclusively as a production manager.
