Otto Reuther

Otto Reuther (born March 21, 1890 in Achselschwang ; † 1973 ) was a German university professor (economist) and writer.

Life

After graduating from the Wilhelmsgymnasium in Munich in 1909 , Reuther studied political science in Munich.

His dissertation, The Development of the Augsburg Textile Industry , was published in 1914. Reuther worked as a university professor at the TH Munich . Reuther became a member of the NSDAP in 1933 (# 3213066).

He wrote a village story about the Ammersee region Der Goggolore (1935), which inspired Michael Ende to write the libretto for the opera Der Goggolori (1984) after his death . An attempt by the Reuther heirs to take action against this takeover was unsuccessful before the Federal Court of Justice (judgment of July 7, 1990, Az. I ZR 191/88).

Reuther wrote libretti for the composer Cesar Bresgen .
