The Otto Schülke was a sea ​​rescue cruiser of the German Society for the Rescue of Shipwrecked People (DGzRS) in the 19 m class, which was sold in 1969 from the Schweers shipyard in Bardenfleth under shipyard no. 6407 was built. The DGzRS internal designation was KRS 02.

The daughter boat Johann Fidi had the internal designation KRT 02.

Naming

The cruiser was named after a crew member of the rescue cruiser Adolph Bermpohl , who was killed in a serious accident in February 1967.

The daughter boat was nicknamed ( Johann Fidi ) by a foreman (captain) named Johann Friedrich Rass from the island of Norderney , from whose family a total of three generations of foremen had emerged in the past. (Source: a family member)

Whereabouts

In May 1997 the cruiser was sold to the Icelandic Sea Rescue Service and sailed there under the name Gunnar Fridriksson , the daughter boat under the name Stefan Eggertson

In 2000 the boat was sold on in Iceland, in 2001 the boat came to Norway, where it was used as a supply vehicle. In 2019, a non-profit association bought the ship in order to exhibit it as a museum cruiser on Norderney. In September 2019 the ship was brought back to Germany.
