Otto Schmidt (doctor, 1873)

Otto Schmidt (born January 13, 1873 in Bruchsal , † 1965 ) was a German medic .

Life

Schmidt spent his youth in Tübingen . There he passed the matriculation examination and then began studying medicine in 1891 , which he completed in 1896 with a license to practice medicine and a doctorate . He then worked as an assistant doctor under Carl von Liebermeister at the Medical Clinic in Tübingen. During this time he passed the state medical exam. From 1902 on he worked as a general practitioner in Rottenburg am Neckar and returned to Tübingen in 1919 as a senior medical officer. In 1923 he moved to the Stuttgart Police Headquarters as a medical officer and forensic doctor, and in 1928 was appointed senior medical officer. From 1934 until his retirement in 1938, he worked as a forensic doctor at the Stuttgart City Health Department.

As early as 1926 he had taken on a teaching position for forensic and social medicine at the University of Tübingen . There he was appointed honorary professor in 1932 and taught until 1942.

In addition, he was for many years the board of directors of the Württemberg Medical Officer Association.
