Otto Schneider (politician, 1902)

Otto Schneider (born April 16, 1902 in Gera ; † July 25, 1947 in Jena ) was a German politician ( CDU in the Soviet Zone ). He was a member of the Thuringian state parliament and in 1947 state chairman of the CDU Thuringia .

Life

A tailor by trade businessman and weaving mill owner, became a member of the CDU in the Soviet occupation zone (SBZ) in 1945 . From 1945 to 1947 he was deputy chairman of the CDU von Greiz . In June 1946 he became a member of the Advisory State Assembly of Thuringia . In October 1946 he was elected a member of the Thuringian state parliament. From February 1947 he was Ministerial Director and Head of the Office for Trade and Supply in the Ministry of Supply of the State Government of Thuringia. At the 2nd state party conference from April 18 to 20, 1947 in Erfurt, Schneider was elected as the successor to the resigned Walter Körner as state chairman of the CDU Thuringia. At the same time he became a member of the main executive board of the CDU.

Schneider died of an illness in Weimar at the age of 45.
