Otto pond
Franz Otto Teich (born December 7, 1866, possibly in Leipzig , † April 15, 1935 ) was a German composer and music publisher.
Life
Otto Teich was a trained music dealer. The Otto Teich publishing house was founded on January 2, 1889 in Darmstadt . In 1892 Teich was also involved in founding the CF Teich publishing house in Leipzig. Both publishers had published in Leipzig since 1896, and from 1906 Otto Teich was the sole owner of both publishers.
Since the publishing house could not afford foreign composers in the early days, it initially published mostly compositions by Teich himself. Teich created 675 compositions. His best-known piece is Im Grunewald ist Holzauktion , a Rhinelander by Franz Meißner , to which he contributed the text.
Over time, the publisher expanded its range of publications to include couplets and humorous plays. Otto Reutter is one of the well-known artists published by Otto Teich . After stops in Frankfurt am Main and Stade near Hamburg after the Second World War , the publishing house has been based in Darmstadt since 1954.
Archives of the CF Teich Verlag are now in the Saxon State Archives , Leipzig State Archives Department .
