Eckart Frey

Eckart Frey (born April 5, 1949 in Klein Ammensleben ) is a German ancient historian .

Life

After attending school (elementary school Klein Ammensleben (1955–1959), polytechnic secondary school Gutenswegen (1959–1963), extended secondary school Otto von Guericke Magdeburg (1963–1967)) he studied history and Russian as a teacher at the Clara University of Education from 1967 to 1971 Zetkin Leipzig , where he graduated as a subject teacher in 1971. With this degree he taught history and Russian at the polytechnic high schools Sadenbeck (1971–1972) and III Wolmirstedt (1971–1980). He did his eighteen months of military service from 1975 to 1977. From 1993 to 2014 he was a research assistant at the Institute for History at the University of Magdeburg .

Reiner Haseloff presented him with the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany on November 22, 2011 .
