coat of arms

The coat of arms was approved on January 13, 1997 by the Magdeburg Regional Council.

Blazon : “Green over red divided by a silver, wavy bar; at the top a silver oak branch with three leaves and two upright stalked acorns, at the bottom two silver scythe irons crossed with the tips upwards. "

The community colors are green - red.

The north of the Samswegen district with its forests and the adjacent heather is symbolized by the green background of the coat of arms and the acorns with the leaves. The southern half, on the other hand, is very much shaped by the Börde with traditional agriculture. This is expressed by the crossed silver scythe leaves. The middle silver wave bar, which represents the river Ohre , symbolically separates the heather from the Börde .
