Otto VI. von Tecklenburg († 1388 ) was count of Tecklenburg from 1360 / 67–1388 and by marriage lord of Rheda .

Life

Otto VI. von Tecklenburg was born as the only son of Count Nikolaus I. von Tecklenburg and Helene von Oldenburg -Wildeshausen, daughter of Count Otto.

After the death of his father in 1360/67 Otto VI. Count of Tecklenburg-Lingen-Ibbenbüren and from 1367 also lien owner of Iburg . In his many feuds he won the rule of Rheda as well as the bailiffs of Clarholz , Marienfeld and Herzebrock von Lippe and was able to maintain them.

From 1372 to 1379 he was administrator of the Diocese of Osnabrück and put Bishop Melchior on retirement for reasons of power politics. 1379 Otto VI. besieged in Rheda and had to give up.

Marriage and offspring

Otto VI. married in 1362 Adelheid zur Lippe († 1380), daughter of the nobleman Bernhard V. zur Lippe , heiress of the rule Rheda . Come from this marriage
