Otto Wehle

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Otto Wehle (born May 6, 1859 in Luckau , † February 4, 1928 in Düsseldorf ) was a German brass caster , designer , entrepreneur and retailer .

Wehle had lived in Düsseldorf since 1886, in his Rhenish gas stove factory he produced stoves for heating with coal and gas. Since 1888 he had the German Reich Patent No. 51 133 for a gas stove. In 1891 his factory was transferred to Friedrich Gustav Berg . Since then he has apparently limited himself to trading in stoves and other house and kitchen equipment; Around 1900 the Düsseldorf address books name a specialty store for gas heating under his name .

Otto Wehle was a Protestant denomination. His first wife was Johanna Wehle geb. Messerschmidt (born November 20, 1859 in Werl ; † April 17, 1915 in Düsseldorf), they had ten children together. On January 30, 1886, the Wehle family moved to Düsseldorf, where they initially lived in the house at Nordstrasse 30. The Rhenish gas stove factory Otto Wehle was built on the property at Capellstrasse 22, the Wehle family then lived in the house at Kaiserstrasse 23. After the sale of the factory, the family lived in the neo-Renaissance residential and commercial building in Königsallee , which was built by Düsseldorf architects Bernhard Tüshaus and Leo von Abbema 33, later renumbered to Königsallee 68, on the northern corner property at the confluence of Grünstraße.

After the death of his first wife, Otto Wehle married Katharina Wehle b. Weckes (born May 3, 1876 in Krefeld-Bockum), who was a Roman Catholic denomination and left Düsseldorf after his death.

Otto Wehle's shop on Königsallee continued after his death, and a shop for lights and lighting parts can still be found for 2011 under his name and at the same address.
