Otto von Blanckenburg

Otto von Blanckenburg , also Otto von Blankenburg , (* around 1535 in Hildebrandshagen ; † August 4, 1605 ibid) was Commander of the German Order of Langeln in the Ballei Sachsen .

Life

Blanckenburg came from a noble family of the Uckermark and was the youngest son of Henning von Blanckenburg on Wolfshagen . He was recruited for the Teutonic Order by Johann von Lossow . In 1572 he was appointed Commander of the Coming Langeln in the county of Wernigerode . He held this position for twenty years. In 1592 his honorable discharge took place in order to inherit the Hildebrandshagen and Schlepkow family estates . He married. His wife Ursula geb. von Klützow from Dedelow gave birth to five daughters and a son. His epitaph can still be found today in the Hildebrandshagen parish church.

Jacob von Blanckenburg is one of his brothers.
