Otto von Westarp

Otto Graf von Westarp (born September 19, 1825 in Potsdam , † February 28, 1879 in Gumbinnen ) was a German administrative lawyer in the Kingdom of Prussia .

Life

He was the son of Count Adolf von Westarp (* 1796) and his wife Paulina, née Freiin von Müffling (* 1803).

Westarp studied law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and became active in the Corps Saxo-Borussia Heidelberg in 1845 . After the exams, he was a court assessor in Soldin and Cottbus from 1853 . In 1853 he married Berta Hassel (* 1831). Westarp came to the district court in Königsberg in 1859 and in Cottbus in 1863. He moved from the administration of justice to internal administration and worked from 1863 to 1868 as district administrator in the Dramburg district , Pomerania province . Since 1868 Landdrost of the Landdrostei Hildesheim , he was appointed regional president in the Gumbinnen administrative district in 1875 . In 1878 he left the service.

As a member of the Conservative Party , he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives .
