Oxaziclomefon is a chemical compound from the oxazines group and a herbicide developed by Rhône-Poulenc (now Bayer CropScience ) .

The mechanism of action has long been unknown. Today it is believed that Oxaziclomefon inhibits cell elongation , which leads to chlorosis , reddish-brown discoloration and necrosis.

Oxaziclomefon is used in rice cultivation against grass weeds and broad-leaved weeds.

Admission

Oxaziclomefon is not approved as a crop protection agent in the European Union or Switzerland .
