Pål Gamst Waaktaar-Savoy , today's stage name Paul Waaktaar-Savoy , (born September 6, 1961 in Tonsenhagen , Oslo ) is a Norwegian musician and member of the band a-ha .

In 1991 Waaktaar-Savoy married the American Lauren Savoy. The couple have one son and live in New York City and Oslo.

In addition to a-ha, Waaktaar-Savoy and his wife Lauren founded the band Savoy , which has also enjoyed some successes since it was founded in 1994. Third in the group is the drummer Frode Unneland.

In 2012, Waaktaar-Savoy and his colleagues from a-ha received the Order of Saint Olav in the knight grade 1st class for their contribution to Norwegian music.
