Magne Furuholmen
Magne "Mags" Furuholmen (born November 1, 1962 in Oslo , Norway ) is a co-founder and keyboardist and guitarist of the Norwegian pop band a-ha . Furuholmen is also a visual artist.
Life
When Magne was six years old, his father, the jazz musician Kåre Furuholmen, was killed in a plane crash over Drammen, south of Oslo. Furuholmen then grew up with his grandfather, who was also a musician. He has been married to the Norwegian Heidi Rydjord since 1992 and has two sons with her.
In addition to his publications with a-ha and as a soloist, Furuholmen is a member of the supergroup Apparatjik , which also includes Coldplay bassist Guy Berryman , Mew singer and guitarist Jonas Bjerre and music producer and drummer Martin Terefe.
Furuholmen was apprenticed to the painter Kjell Nupen and has already had numerous exhibitions in Japan, Norway and France. He was close friends with the Norwegian poet Henning Kramer Dahl .
In 2012, Furuholmen and his colleagues from a-ha received the Order of St. Olav in the level knight 1st class for their contribution to Norwegian music.
The end of 2017 was Furuholmen from the University of Agder the honorary doctorate awarded.
