Peter Szor ( Hungarian Szor Péter * 1970 in Balatonfüred , † 12. November 2013 ) was a Hungarian computer viruses - analyst .

Peter Szor was an entrepreneur and employee of F-Secure . He gained attention as the author of The Art of Computer Virus Research and Defense , translated into multiple languages . The main focus of his analysis was on metamorphic viruses . Szor also worked for Virus Bulletin , a magazine and website that deals with malware, viruses, and spam analysis and related research.

He worked on search engines for the antivirus program manufacturers F-PROT , Kaspersky Lab , Norton AntiVirus and McAfee . Between 1990 and 1995 he implemented his own anti-virus program Pasteur  (AVP:  Anti Virus Pasteur ) in Hungary .

In September 2000, Szor delivered the opening address of the Virus Bulletin Annual Conference on Attacks on Win32 - Part II.

Peter Szor was buried in his Hungarian homeland.
