With 1000 employees, P3 is represented at 16 locations worldwide, controls large projects and reorganizes business processes in the automotive, IT & media, energy, rail & transportation and banking & insurance sectors

history

founding

The company was founded in 1996 by Thomas Prefi, Christoph Theis and Thomas Weingarten as a spin-off company from the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT in Aachen. The company was founded as a consequence of the successful development of a quality management system for what was then Daimler-Benz . The mentor and doctoral supervisor of the three founders is Tilo Pfeifer , who at the time was head of the chair for production metrology and quality management at RWTH Aachen University and chairman of the scientific advisory board of the German Society for Quality . Christoph Theis, the company's spokesman, was born in Siegen in 1966. He studied engineering, specializing in mechanical engineering, at RWTH Aachen University and received his doctorate at the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology in the field of quality management.

Society history

The P3 Group was founded in 1996 as P3 - Ingenieurgesellschaft für Management und Organization and operated under the name P3 Ingenieurgesellschaft between 2007 and 2015. Effective January 10, 2019, the company was divided into the two companies P3 Group based in Aachen and P3 Global based in Stuttgart. The company from the P3 Group has been operating under the name Umlaut AG since October 25, 2019 , still based in Aachen. During and after the division of the company, P3 Global remained the brand owner of the name P3 Group and has been operating under the P3 Group again since January 20, 2020.

Subsidiaries and international orientation

P3 Group has three subsidiaries in Germany:

  • P3 Automotive, headquartered in Stuttgart, since 2006. Her focus is on: technology & management consulting, project management , electromobility , operations & supply chain
  • P3 Digital Services, based in Düsseldorf, since 2016. Her focus is on: app & software development , android automotive, IT consulting & IT architecture, rollout & operation
  • P3 Security Consulting, based in Stuttgart, since 2018. Her focus is on: Security framework and advice in the areas of ISO 27001 , GDPR , UN / ECE & IOT security.
