The 1917/18 season was the seventh regular season of the Pacific Coast Hockey Association (PCHA). The champions became the Vancouver Millionaires .
Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Spokane Canaries stopped the game.
mode
In the regular season, the three teams played 18 games each. The two first-placed teams then met each other for the championship title in two-legged matches, with the better goal difference from both games being decisive. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a tie and zero points for a defeat.
Season course
Due to Canada's entry into the war in World War I , the league feared that it would have too few good players available, as some PCHA players had joined the Canadian armed forces. However, since the Spokane Canaries were dissolved before the season, it was still possible to get enough high-quality players for the remaining three teams. The championship was finally decided for the first time in two playoff games between the first two. There the Vancouver Millionaires prevailed with 3-2 goals against last year's champions Seattle Metropolitans, with Barney Stanley scoring the winning goal in the 1-0 victory for Vancouver in Game 2.

Stanley Cup Challenge
For the Stanley Cup , the Vancouver Millionaires competed against the Toronto Arenas from the newly founded National Hockey League , to which they lost 2: 3 wins in a best-of-five series. The decisive goal in the 2-1 win for Toronto in game five was Corbett Denneny .
