The 1919-20 season was the Pacific Coast Hockey Association's (PCHA) ninth regular season . Masters became the Seattle Metropolitans .

In the regular season, the three teams played 22 games each. The two first-placed teams then met each other for the championship title in two-legged matches, with the better goal difference from both games being decisive. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a tie and zero points for a defeat.
Season course
In a tight season, the first-placed and third were only four points apart. The Seattle Metropolitans won the regular season title with a 12:10 win over the Vancouver Millionaires in front of 7,000 spectators. In the playoffs, Seattle decided to play a home game against Vancouver, but lost 3-1 on their own ice. In the second leg, however, she was able to win 6-0 in front of 9,000 spectators away in Vancouver and also secure the playoff title.

Stanley Cup Challenge
For the Stanley Cup , the Seattle Metropolitans competed against the Ottawa Senators from the National Hockey League . Although the Metropolitans were able to equalize the best-of-five series after two defeats, Ottawa won the decisive fifth game clearly 6: 1, with Jack Darragh scoring a hat trick for the Canadians.
