The PV-1000 is an 8-bit home video game console of the third generation of consoles , which was developed by Casio and released exclusively in Japan in October 1983 at a price of 14,800 yen .

history

After the console was launched, it quickly became apparent that the hardware was weaker than that of the competing consoles and that the console did not offer any significant advantages over other systems. At the latest with the appearance of the two consoles Nintendo Family Computers (known in Germany as NES ) and Sega Master System , which both offered more powerful hardware and more games, the console's fate was sealed. Nowadays it is a sought-after collector's item.

A home computer was released under the name PV-2000 , but apart from the name and compatibility of the joysticks, it had nothing in common with the PV-1000. It was not until autumn 1995 that Casio released a new game console, which was marketed under the name Casio Loopy .
