geography

There are several geographical entries for the Pagua River, a distinction is made between the upper reaches and the last kilometers of the lower reaches. The springs arise close to the border to the neighboring Parish Saint Joseph to the west , where the watershed also runs (D'Leau Gommier). Its sources lie at 380  m above sea level and share the same aquifer with the Layou River , which runs from there west to the Caribbean Sea . A few other springs are located on the southern slope of Mang Peak ( ) at an altitude of almost 600  m . East of Borne (459 m) at Deux Branches ( ) the main source streams flow together and form the Sisserou Falls . Then the river runs northwards, along the eastern flank of the Pagua Hills to the Stonefield Estate , where further streams flow from the Pagua Hills ( ), as well as from the right and south the Ravine Pinard and from the left and north from the area of Bambou the Banana Gutter . The catchment area of the Crapaud Hall River joins here to the north , which only flows into the Pagua River shortly before it flows into the sea. The river runs in a large southern arc to the northeast, running along the slopes of the Pagua Hills of Bambou and bordered to the south by the slopes of Morne Fraser , Morne La Source and lastly by Fond Corde (309 m) ( Carib Territory ) . Numerous streams flow from the mountains, not all of which are famous. A larger tributary, which itself has numerous side streams, is the Charles Warner River (with Ravine Bois Diable ), whose sources arise in the northwest of the Morne Fraser and thus connect to the catchment area of the Castle Bruce River (with Raymondstone River ).

In the area of the right and south lead Bois Diable Plantation the Ravine Djerrick , Swamp Ravine , then at Lagli the Ravine Tortues and Concord , the Ravine Touloute and the Ravine Chewai Blanc (from Fond cords ). Here the Pagua River runs with a few small dividing courses to the north and from Bambou from the left and west the Ravine Pierre flows to it. At Coffee and Balata , Ravine Diane follows from the right and east and the Jumbie Gutter from left and west . At Wimblew there are also Ravine Pois Doux (r, O) and Frenchman Ravine (r, O) and in the strongly meandering lower course the Ravine Pommes (r, O), and from the left and west of the Crapaud Hall River. To the east of the catchment area, numerous small streams run from the eastern slopes of the Morne Fraser massif, each with its own catchment area. The Magua River with the tributaries Kusana Ravine and Fibaukati Ravine also flows into Pagua Bay ; it is therefore the closest neighbor to the east ( ). The springs arise in the Northern Forest Reserve and it receives tributaries from the Central Forest Reserve .
