Pahvische is the sixth music album of Eläkeläiset and includes as its predecessors only cover versions of well-known artists from the pop , rock and metal scene . In the band's own style, all songs were converted to Humppa melodies in 2/4 time and received new texts in Finnish .
background
Eläkeläiset usually writes the songs first and then asks for permission to cover the original. In Pahvische , Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! should be from ABBA , but the band was not released. According to his own statements, Onni Varis received the rejection by phone while he was in a Finnish record store. Lauri Ylönen happened to be in the shop as well and gave spontaneous permission to use The Falling .
At the end of the CD there is a 25-minute hidden track which , although not listed on the cover, is called "Humppaviritys" ("Humppa-Tuning"). However, it only consists of the noisy scraps of speech and music from a radio.
