The Paimionjoki ( Swedish Pemar å ) is a river in the extreme southwest of Finland in the Varsinais-Suomi landscape .
The river has its origin in Lake Painio east of the small town of Somero . It flows first in a westerly direction, later in a south-westerly direction and flows into the archipelago about 20 km east of the city of Turku . On its route, the 110 km long river passes through Koski Tl , Marttila and Tarvasjoki and the small town of Paimio . The most important tributary is the Tarvasjoki . The catchment area of the Paimionjoki covers 1088 km². The mean discharge is 7.2 m³ / s.
