Paint Rock is the district capital and the county seat of Concho County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

The city is located a little west of the geographic center of Texas, at the intersection of Ranch Road 380 with US Highway 83 in the central county and has a total area of 4.3 km² without any significant water surface.

According to the 2000 census, 320 people in 110 households and 83 families lived here. The population density was 74.4 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 77.19% White, 0.0% African American, 2.81% Native American, 0.0% Asian or Pacific Islander, and 19.69% from other races. About 0.31% were mixed race and 28.44% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 110 households, 41.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them. 64.5% of them were married couples living together. 9.1% were single mothers and 24.5% were non-families. 21.8% of all households were single households and 9.1% had people living there who were 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.91 and the average family size was 3.45.
