Pak Ui-chun (* 1932 ) is a North Korean diplomat and politician and was his country's foreign minister in the Pak Pong-ju II cabinet from 2007 to 2014 .

Pak began his diplomatic career as an ambassador to Cameroon . He then headed the North Korean missions in Algeria , Syria and Lebanon . Most recently, he was the North Korean Ambassador to Moscow from 1998 to August 2006 . At the same time he has been a member of the Presidium of the North Korean Supreme People's Assembly since 1998 . On May 18, 2007, he was appointed the new Foreign Minister by a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly. The post has been vacant since the death of his predecessor Paek Nam-sun in early January 2007. Pak's appointment as foreign minister was seen as a sign that the internationally largely isolated North Korean regime was turning to Russia . In 2014 he was replaced by Ri Su-yong .
