Palanka ( Ukrainian and Russian Паланка ) is a village in the southwest of the Ukrainian Cherkassy Oblast with about 1,600 inhabitants (2001).

The well-known since the 17th century village is since November 2017, the administrative center of the same rural community ( Паланська сільська об'єднана територіальна громада Palanska silska objednana terytorialna hromada ) in the west of Rajon Uman with over 8,500 inhabitants that even the villages Berestiwez ( Берестівець , ⊙ ) with about 800 inhabitants, Horodezke ( Городецьке , ⊙ ) with a population of 1,300, Hromy ( Громи , ⊙ ) with about 1,100 inhabitants, Kotscherschynzi ( Кочержинці , ⊙ ) with a population of 1,300, Kotschubijiwka ( Кочубіївка , ⊙ ) with about 700 inhabitants, Maksymiwka with about 450 inhabitants and Tomaschiwka ( Томашівка , ⊙ ) with about 550 inhabitants.
The village is located in the Dnieper Upland at an altitude of 239 m , near the source of the river of the same ( Паланка ), a 13 km long tributary of the Umanka ( Уманка ), 11 km southwest of the Rajonzentrum Uman and about 190 km southwest of the Oblastzentrum Cherkassy .
The M 12 / E 50 road runs through the village .
