The place Pampilhosa is a municipality ( Freguesia ) in Portugal and belongs to the district of Mealhada with an area of 13.6 km² and a population of 4098 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011). This results in a population density of 301 inhabitants per km².
Pampilhosa is a major railway junction and has a train station on the Linha do Norte and the Linha da Beira Alta . The railway connection to Figueira da Foz via Cantanhede ( Ramal da Figueira da Foz ) also starts here . The ceramic industry is the most important branch of industry that settled here at the beginning of the 20th century. Of many clay factories, however, only ruins can be seen today and today there are many new industries and trading houses in an industrial park, which use the favorable location of Pampilhosa as a starting point for their business. The FC Pampilhosa is the football club in the community.
