Panachaiki Gymnastiki Enosi (PGE) is a Greek sports club from Patras that was founded in 1891 . The soccer and athletics sections , which have won numerous Olympic medals, are the most successful. Other sections are volleyball , basketball and boxing .
The club's flagship player was Kostas Davourlis , the captain of the team that stunned football fans in Greece in the 1970s. Her best placement in the first division she reached in 1973 with fourth place, which entitled to participation in the 1973/74 UEFA Cup . The team was eliminated in the second round against FC Twente Enschede .
