The Panasonic Lumix DMC-G5 is a system camera housing for the Micro Four Thirds standard .

It is a further development of Panasonic's Lumix DMC-G product series (DMC-G1, G2 and G3) and was presented in July 2012.

In video mode it is fully HD capable (1080p). In contrast to SLR cameras , the DMC-G5 does not have an optical viewfinder . An electronic viewfinder (EVF) and a three-inch LC display with rotating and swiveling options and live view are available to the photographer for creating images . The DMC-G5 uses a fast process with contrast measurement for automatic focusing .
