Pandora (* 20th June 1970 as Anneli Magnusson in Vasteras , Sweden ) is a Swedish singer. Her music contained elements of Eurodance, which was widespread at the time .

Life

Magnusson grew up in a small town in central Sweden and gained experience with the guitar as a child . As a teenager, she often performed in a café near her home. Their role models were Eric Clapton and Mark Knopfler . During her studies in Västerås, not far from Stockholm , she met three music producers who were looking for a female voice for a planned dance act . In the fall of 1993 Magnusson signed the record deal and began her career as Pandora. The debut single Trust Me was released that same year and received gold status in Sweden. The accompanying album One Of A Kind achieved high sales in Finland as well as in Sweden . After Ace of Base, Pandora became the most successful dance act in Scandinavia. In the same year, the single Up North followed as a cooperation with the Swedish dance act Melodie MC .

In 1995 the album Tell The World followed, including the single of the same name, which was not only a success in Scandinavia but also in Japan . The following album Changes in 1997 was released worldwide. In the same year she went on tour in Scandinavia and Japan. In 1998 Pandora sang the song for the Olympic Winter Games Spirit to Win , a best-of album followed. More singles and albums followed, which were very successful in Japan and Australia . In 2004 she took part in a preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest , but was not selected as a final candidate.

In the years 2005 to 2009, more singles and albums appeared, but they could not build on the earlier successes.
