The Panjab University is a state university in Chandigarh , the capital of the Indian states of Punjab and Haryana .
history
The origins date back to the 1882 founded University of the Punjab in Lahore in what is now Pakistan back. The college was the fourth university to be established in British India after the University of Mumbai , University of Calcutta and University of Madras . It falls under the tenure of Governor Charles Aitchison . After the partition of India in 1947, western Punjab with the provincial capital Lahore came to Pakistan as well.
