Paolo Orsi Mangelli

Paolo Orsi Mangelli (born October 30, 1762 in Forlì , † March 4, 1846 in Rome ) was an Italian cardinal of the Roman Church .

Life

Paolo Orsi Mangelli was born on October 30th, 1762 into the noble family Orsi Mangelli, who had lived in Forlì since the 12th century. His parents were Francesco and Antonia, a Contessa Severoli from Faenza .

After the death of his parents, he moved to Rome and initially pursued a career as a civil servant. On October 22nd, 1804 he married Countess Elisabetta Valmarana, with whom he lived in Forlì and had eight children, four of whom died in childhood. After the death of his wife on October 31, 1817, he went back to Rome and held various positions in the Papal States , sponsored by Ercole Consalvi .

On December 2, 1838 he donated the vice regent of Rome Antonio Luigi Piatti the ordinations Low . On March 29, 1840 he received the ordination and was ordained by Pope Gregory XVI. created in the consistory of January 27, 1843 cardinal deacon of the titular deaconry Santa Maria della Scala . He died on March 4, 1846 in Rome and was buried there in the church of Santa Maria della Vittoria .
