Parrots ( spelling PAPAGEIEN ) is a trade journal that was founded in 1988 by Thomas Arndt and Horst Müller . It was the first magazine that dealt exclusively with the topic of " parrot birds ".

History and Development

Parrots magazine was developed by Thomas Arndt in the 1980s. It was initially published by Arndt & Müller, and from 1993 by Arndt-Verlag . Subject areas include keeping, nutrition, breeding, disease and free life of parrots and parakeets as well as news and travel reports. One focus is on reporting on the conservation of parrots. The magazine was initially published quarterly, has been published monthly since 1997 and is now published in 28 countries worldwide.

The editorial team of the magazine includes biologists , parrot breeders and experts with a scientific or veterinary background from Germany and abroad. The technical competence is guaranteed by an additional expert council, which acts as a technical advisory board for the editorial team. Including u. a. Thomas Arndt , Michael Lierz , Matthias Reinschmidt , Petra Wolf and Auguste von Bayern .

In 1999 the first parrot workshop took place in cooperation with Loro Parque and Loro Parque Fundación .
