Paradisbakkerne ( Paradise Hill ), also Helvedesbakkerne ( Hell Hill ), is a group of hills in the east of Bornholm Island . The area is about three kilometers northwest of Nexø , in the Hovedstaden region . The privately owned property is a hilly, rocky landscape with narrow moat zones, which are bordered by almost vertical rock walls. The hills usually rise 30 to 50 meters above the wooded area, which also has a number of small lakes and swamps. Midterpilt , 113 meters above sea level, is one of the highest points in the Paradisbakkerne. Although much of the area is now forested, it was once overgrown with heather and low shrubs, which made the area a good grazing area. The Paradisbakkerne have a long cultural history; to many places in the area, such as B. Slingestenen, Linkisten, Ligstenen, Dybedal, Ravnedal, Majdal and Gamle Dam, there are stories and legends
