Parc Bagatelle is the oldest amusement park in France. The history of the park begins shortly after the end of the Second World War , when a 26-hectare area between the villages of Le Touquet and Berck was acquired by the Parents because the man wanted to pursue his hobby there and watch water birds . A guest house and mini golf course for children were added later. Another animal area emerged in the 1970s, and over time a thriving amusement park developed. The Parc Bagatelle.
In June 2000 the park was taken over by the amusement park chain Grévin France SA . At the end of the Sainson, the park announced that the park had around 400,000 visitors this season. In the following ten years the number of visitors fell sharply. Five years later the park could only have 311,000 visitors a year and in 2010 it was only 275,000 visitors. On December 15, 2010, the Compagnie des Alpes announced the sale of the park, along with six other parks, to the French amusement park chain Looping Group , which has been operating the park since January 2011. The Looping Group amusement park chain had its headquarters directly at Parc Bagatelle from 2011 to 2016. It has been at the Grand Aquarium in Saint-Malo since 2017 . In the 2015 season, Parc Bagatelle celebrated its 60th birthday. In this anniversary season, 309,800 visitors visited the park, which is 12% more than in 2014 and the best result in the last ten years. The amusement park consists of three themed areas in which over 40 attractions can be found. The park is currently managed by François-Jérôme Parent, the grandson of the park founder, who ran the park between 1989 and 2000.
