'Pardina' is a white wine from Italy . The new breed originated in 1932 from a cross of the varieties ' Black Monukka ' × ' Citronelle '. The breeder was Alberto Piròvano , who realized numerous grape varieties at the Istituto di Frutticoltura ed Elettrogenetica di Roma in Rome .
'Pardina' is often incorrectly equated with the Spanish grape variety ' Pardillo '. This is due to the fact that in some parts of Spain the Pardillo vine is also colloquially called Pardina.
ancestry
Cross of ' Black Monukka ' × ' Citronelle '.
Ampelographic varietal characteristics
- The shoot tip is open. It is hairy like a cobweb. The young leaves are not hairy and yellow-green in color.
- The large leaves are five-lobed and deeply indented. The stem bay is open in a U-shape. The sheet is serrated to a point. The teeth are closely set compared to other varieties.
- The cylindrical grape is large, shouldered and loose berries. The elongated berries are large and orange-yellow in color. The taste of the berries is neutral. The berry skin is thick-walled.
Maturity: approx. 25 - 28 days after the Gutedel and is therefore considered to ripen late.
Yield, wine
The yields are usually high, so that a targeted grape thinning must be carried out in order to achieve good wine quality. In Italy, the variety is mostly grown on a pergola .
