The 2007 parliamentary elections in the Åland Islands for Lagting , the Åland Islands regional parliament, took place on October 21, 2007. All 30 seats were available for election for a four-year term under proportional representation. Åland Progress Group did not take part in the elections as its only member of the Lagting, Ronald Boman, chose to resign, while a new organization, the HUT group, unsuccessfully rejected its first election. The Liberals for Åland won the most seats in the elections and formed a government with the Åland Center, in which the Liberals Viveka Eriksson became the new Prime Minister.

Result

Ultimately, two of the parties in the Landskapstyrelse, the Freeminded Co-operation and the Åland Social Democrats, suffered heavy losses, with the social democratic representation in the Lagting halved and the Freeminded Co-operation below 10% for the first time in the party's history Voices fell. The third party in government, the Åland Center, narrowly gained. The winners of the election were the Liberals for Åland, who reclaimed the cloak as the largest party and exceeded the 30% mark for the first time in the party's history.

The substantial losses suffered by the Freeminded Co-operation and the Social Democrats can in part be explained by dissatisfaction with the government, as well as the resignation of the popular members of the Lagting, Harriet Lindeman (Freeminded Co-operation) and Lasse Wiklöf (Social Democrats). With the election, former Åland MP and MP for the Lagting Gunnar Jansson returned for the Liberals, who became the Liberals' most popular candidate with 745 votes, or 5.6% of all votes cast. Former member of the Lagting, Lantråd (head of government of Åland) and the recently resigned member of the Finnish parliament, Roger Jansson (freethinking cooperation), did not get as many votes as Gunnar Jansson, but was also elected.
